Brilliant Beech Class
Welcome to the Beech Class page. We are Year 2/3. We love Beech Class because we have pouches on our chairs to store our belongings. The pouches help us to tidy up more quickly.
Our new Topic is Romans. We’re looking forward to learning about Roman numerals and can't wait to make mosaics and shields.
In Science we are learning about humans and animals. Last week Year 2 made skeletons out of pasta and Year 3 made models of arms using card and string (the string works like arm muscles). We are reading George’s Marvellous Medicine and we have nearly finished the book – we can’t wait to find out what happens at the end of the story!
Y3 learn French. We can say some numbers, colours, animals, countries and we can follow instructions in French.
In assembly this term we are learning about creativity. Last term we learnt about trust. In class assembly we talked about the people that we trust. Some of us also said that we trusted our pets.
We have lots of events in our school. We had Anti Bullying Week before Christmas and we are taking part in Readathon. We sometimes have cake sales to raise money for charity. On break the rules day we are allowed to break some of the school rules!
We have a class marble jar. Each time we earn 10 marbles we get a treat. We have now earned 54 marbles! As a treat for earning 50 marbles, we will bring our teddies into school on Friday! We are really excited!
Beech Class Blog
Each class is named after a tree. We are Beech Class. We do fun maths and fun English. We did a presentation about sharks and sharks' teeth.
We all love English, Maths, Topic, Assembly and ICT. Beech Class is really fun and everyone really likes each other in class. We have a sports coach for PE and we all enjoy it because it is really fun.
Our Topic this term is “Frozen”. We watched the film and looked at the scenes. Soon we will write a diary entry as one of the characters. Every morning we have Individual Learning Time. During this time we complete tasks in our own Busy Folder. We also use red pen to reply to marking in our Maths and Curriculum books. We learn how to use cursive handwriting and times tables.
We like playtime because it helps us to build friendships and be kind to each other. We enjoy playing with Loom Bands at playtime. We treat people with respect, share the toys and play games quite a lot. At lunch time some of us have hot dinners and at lunchtime on Fridays we watch a film.
Every Friday we have a dog (teddy) called Douglas and he goes home with our Star of the Week. There is another dog called Dennis that only goes home in the holidays with our Star of the Term.
Beech Class write a blog about their learning. You can read it by clicking the link here.
