        Pupil Premium

Pupil Premium

The Pupil Premium was introduced by the government as a way of allocating funds to support low-income families who are eligible for free school meals, looked after children and those from families with parents in the Armed Forces. At Lacock School we strive to ensure that this money is spent in the most effective way possible by using current educational research; our knowledge of the children and discussion with families to help inform the decisions we make.

Schools are required to publish details of their allocation and how it has been spent in the previous academic year and plans for spending it within the current academic year. There is also an expectation that schools will detail the effect of this expenditure on the educational attainment of those pupils at the school in respect of whom funding was allocated.

In the 2024 to 2025 financial year, schools will receive the following funding for each child registered as eligible for free school meals at any point in the last 6 years:

  • £1,480 for pupils in reception year to year 6
  • Schools will also receive £2,570 for each pupil identified having left local-authority care because of one of the following:
    • adoption
    • a special guardianship order
    • a child arrangements order
    • a residence order

Children who have been in local-authority care for 1 day or more also attract £2,570 of pupil premium funding. Funding for these pupils is managed by the Wiltshire virtual school head (VSH).
Children eligible for Service pupil premium will attract £340 to support their pastoral needs.

SUPPORTED BY CHRISTIAN VALUES… EVERY CHILD MATTERS TO GOD.

Lacock is a Church of England primary school in the historic village of Lacock. Lacock is located south of the market town of Chippenham, Wiltshire and children come to our school from the village and the surrounding areas.
We aim to provide a happy, secure environment in which every child can achieve their best. We foster a family ethos where everyone is valued and makes a unique contribution to the life of the school.
