The RE curriculum at Lacock Primary School
At Lacock School we are proud of our links to our local church St Cyriac’s and to our surrounding community. The principal aim of RE at Lacock Primary School is to engage children in asking ‘big questions’ arising from their study of holy texts and to promote their spiritual development.
At Lacock School, RE is taught for one hour per week. We follow the Wiltshire agreed syllabus, supported by the Understanding Christianity and Discovery RE resources and by the time a child leaves Lacock School our intention is that they will have:

- A secure theological understanding of the religions explored
- An ability to reflect on and ask questions about the meaning of life
- An understanding of how the beliefs, values and ways of life within any religion cohere together
- The ability to exemplify the school’s Christian values in wider society
