If your child is ill please let the school know as soon as possible by calling 01249 730271.
Can we remind parents that if your child has an episode of sickness and/or diarrhoea, they must not attend school until they have been clear of symptoms for 48 hours. This is the guidance issued by the Department of Health.
It is always helpful for us to know in advance if children have appointments at the doctors or dentists. Ideally appointments should be made outside school time although we recognize this is not always possible when an appointment might be needed urgently.
Absence due to illness or when visiting the doctor or dentist is marked in the register as ‘authorised’.
We are not able to authorise absence for any other reasons except in exceptional circumstances.
We recognise the importance of children’s attendance at school because we strongly believe in the importance of education, and the link between regular attendance and raising children’s attainment. In order to achieve this we
need to work in partnership with parents, having a shared responsibility in promoting and ensuring good attendance in school.
